Hi,
I went to the movies this weekend and watched Spy Kids 3D with one of the kids.
Not the most exciting movie (for me), but Michala enjoyed it immensely - and we both enjoyed the popcorns.
We got a pair of anaglyphic 3D red/green glasses together with the ticket, and wore these most of the movie.
When you wear these it looks as if objects are popping out of the screen when in fact they are not.
It got me thinking back 15 years or so when Stereograms or SIRDS were 'in'.
Stereograms were just a bunch of different colored dots, but objects magically materialized when you looked at them in a certain way.
I view life in much the same way.
It's not *what* we look at - it's *how* we look at it - and ultimately it's what we decide we want to think or feel about it.
When my well-meaning friends look at our ask-anything-you- like ebook project all they see is an 'impossible project', but that's just because they subconsciously look at it from a less than optimal point of view
Then I smile and tell them that I look at it as a *huge* task.
And now they're really confused because a huge task to them is the *same* as an impossible project.
So I explain that I have purposely and consciously decided that huge tasks is the same as interesting projects.
And I love interesting projects.
So what about your life?
Can you think of a thing or two that you have a less than optimal view of - a view that limits you?
Something that prevents you from moving forward?
What if it really wasn't as impossible as you first thought - and all that was needed was for you to look at it differently?
What if a change of perspective could make all the difference in the world?
One way to re-frame limiting beliefs - or to challenge them - is to do a complete 180.
Ask yourself "how can this actually mean exactly the opposite?" or "what would be possible if I looked at it exactly the other way?"
I for instance, have this limiting belief that I can't run as fast as professional athletes - and I even had this belief when I was young and very fit.
So my question could be "When I run as fast as 'them' what will I get from it - how will I benefit?"
So I'm reversing the presupposition from "I can't run as fast." to "when I run as fast."
And I'm seeing it happen by saying "when" instead of "if" - I make it possible and real in my minds eye.
So which limiting beliefs could you challenge that previously stood in your way of progress?
Think about it - and then *do* something about it.
I've added a resource section to the website at http://growth-focus.com/resources where I will list all the resources I share with you in this newsletter.
This way you can always find what you are looking for without having to go through all your old emails,
And I'm still looking for contributions to the ebook project.
So do you have any questions you would like to be answered - by anyone you choose.
just visit http://growth-focus.com/ebooksurvey.html to become part of our ebook project.
And if you have feedback in general just drop me a note at feedback@growth-focus.com - Let me know what you like and don't like. Tell me what you've been missing or tell me your biggest problem and I might just come up with a solution or two.
To your wealth and growth

P.S. Ken Evoy is still having his Valentine's Day Special at http://growth-focus.com/sbi1 - so if building an online presence without having to learn HTML, perl and PHP, and without having to install log analysis scripts, newsletter management scripts, form handlers and link tracking scripts, then you should give SBI a good look before Valentine's Day. |
