Which radio station will help you get more out of reading books, listening to audio-tapes or attending seminars?
Studies have shown that listening to specific frequencies can induce altered states of mind.
Some, the Alpha brainwaves, will help you relax.
Some, the Theta waves, will put you in a deeper relaxed and dreaming state.
And some, the Beta brainwaves, will help sharpen your mental abilities.
Usually you will use software such as Brain Sound Studio - http://growth-focus.com/bss - or Neuro-Programmer - http://growth-focus.com/np - to create these audiofiles.
But you won't find any radio stations (not that I know of) that will play these types of audiofiles.
And this article really isn't about these auditory helpers at all.
But there's *one* radio station that can help you get more out of what you are reading, so you retain the information better and can put it to use faster and more efficiently.
Tune in to Radio W.I.I.F.M
Sadly I can't tell you where to find this on your radio but it doesn't really matter because it's all in your head.
That's because Radio W.I.I.F.M is short for Radio "What's In It For Me"
Radio W.I.I.F.M is a state of mind you can tune into while you are reading, listening to audio-tapes, attending seminars or otherwise acquiring knowledge.
Radio W.I.I.F.M is a radio station that broadcasts 24/7 - and all you need to do to benefit from it is to tune yourself into the W.I.I.F.M-frequency.
When W.I.I.F.M is at the forefront of your attention you will get more out of the books you're reading, the audio- tapes you are listening to, the seminars you attend and any activity you engage in that has to do with learning.
Focus on what you want to achieve from the books you're reading. Don't just read through the book for the sake of reading it
Look for things that you can put to use immediately.
Listen for how presented ideas can be put into action in your life. Don't just listen to the audio-tape and then conclude "good tape, solid advice", but then do nothing about it.
Go to a seminar with the purpose of picking up at least two good ideas that you will implement when you get home. Don't attend a seminar just to attend it.
Train your brain to automatically search for "places" in the material where there a big readout on the W.I.I.F.M- detector.
It like when successful copywriters put up bait for your W.I.I.F.M-detector, so you can let yourself be drawn through the copy and sell yourself on the idea that it will be good for you to make the purchase.
Imagine having a W.I.I.F.M-detector that has the following settings: "profitable ideas", "relationship-enhancing concepts", "self-esteem boosting methods", "goal-achieving approaches", "team-building techniques" and so on.
Just switch it on, select the appropriate setting, and then approach any book you read, any tape you listen to and any seminar you attend from now on with this question in mind:
"I wonder which extraordinary ideas, concepts, methods, approaches or techniques this book, tape or seminar contains, that are just right for who I am and what I'm looking for or needing in my life or business right now?"
And, the more you train your brain to search for these things, the easier it will get over time.
And eventually it'll be an unconscious competence to be able to spot the golden W.I.I.F.M-nuggets.
So, decide, before you pick up your next book, what it is specifically you want to get from reading it. And do the same before you press play on your next audio-tape or walk through the door to your next seminar.
To your wealth and growth
