…or not?
I’m not a big fan of weight loss diets – or maybe it’s just the crash diets I have strong feelings against.
I’ve never been on one myself, but the idea of lowering your calorie intake so much that you will automatically loose weight just isn’t healthy.
First off you’ll be starving your body of so many of the nutrients we normally get from a balanced diet.
And the low calorie intake will send your metabolism into hibernation because there’s nothing to process.
And once the crash diet is over you will gain weight faster than you lost it because you shut down your metabolism.
Think I’ll just stick with substituting all the bad and unhealthy food choices I’ve made with food that is actually helping my body instead of hurting it.
The biggest culprits in my case has been oversnacking, overeating candy and chocolate, drinks loaded with sugar and too big and too many portions at dinnertime compared to the few calories my sedentary lifestyle actually required me to consume.
Shouldn’t be too hard to score a few easy points here just by making a few informed decisions about what I stuff my head with.
